Not according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. In a recent study, researchers found no negative effects on babies that were sleep trained. These findings measured stress levels, emotional and behavioral problems and secure attachment to parents.

According to the authors of the study, “behavioral interventions appear to improve sleep without detrimental effects on the child or family.”
